Operation T.A.G.TM is a national initiative dedicated to improving the lives of Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and Gold Star spouses through education, financial support, and community partnership.

We are proud to announce that Operation T.A.G., along with our programs Hometown Hero CreditTM and Red, White & SecureTM, is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit project of the High Desert Community Foundation (HDCF). 

This new designation expands our reach, empowers our partnerships, and allows us to serve military families at a level we’ve only dreamed of.

What is the
Hometown
Hero Credit?

The Hometown Hero Credit is designed to dramatically reduce the amount of money needed to buy or refinance a home by offering up to $21,000 to cover closing costs and expenses.

  • No repayment of the funds
  • No income or credit restrictions
  • No first time buyer requirements
  • Can be used for a primary residence
  • Can be used on any type of loan
  • Available for active duty, reserve, and veterans

Who Qualifies for the
Hometown Hero Credit?

To be eligible you must fall under one of the following categories:

Active Duty

Member of the Armed Forces of the United States

Reservist

Member of the Reserve Component of the Armed Forces of the United States

Veteran

Former Member of the Armed Forces of the United States with honorable discharge

Gold Star Families

Spouse, child, or parent of a member of the Armed Forces who died while serving
